In the summer of 2013, I was awarded a grant to travel to Beijing and Florence, Italy to do performance work. The aim of the performances was to explore how language, culture, history and architecture affect the type of relationship two strangers can have with each other. I Invited the public to interact with me to do activities that are often saved for close friendships, family members or lovers. Activities where communication is reduced to the essential and basic ways in which we learn to communicate with each other; such as by touch, sight and body language. The aim of the work was to create safe and free spaces ; a space where communities of care are created where people can connect, heal and fight the injustices of the world by having a moment of recognition of each other.
